Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM)’s brand is a woven tapestry — a powerful metaphor for unity and strength. A single thread alone is fragile, but when woven together, many threads gain resilience and purpose. As more are interlaced, representing individuals within our community, they form an interconnected tapestry that embodies our collective focus, resilience and unwavering commitment to service.

When viewed up close, a distinct section of this tapestry comes into focus, revealing a streamlined, modernized weave. Within this intricate design, a geometric square emerges — symbolizing our intentional closer look.

The square, a universal symbol of stability, strong foundations and reliability, represents the four pillars of MSM: Education, Research, Clinical Excellence and Community Engagement. Positioned in an ascending, left-to-right orientation, these squares evoke forward momentum, optimism and progress, naturally guiding the viewer’s gaze with energy and movement.

MSM’s refined, expanded color palette is inspired by the vibrant fabric of culture and life — infused with energy, excitement and a celebration of the communities we serve. Distinct patterns for each pillar create clear visual cues, allowing audiences to easily connect with the message being conveyed. Each pillar is represented through MSM’s signature True Blues, complemented by shades drawn from the expanded palette, reinforcing both individuality and cohesion within our brand identity.
